A 360 Body Lift is a procedure that removes excess skin and fat circumferentially from the lower body.

A 360 Body Lift is a procedure that removes excess skin and fat circumferentially from the lower body. It is commonly applied after significant weight loss to eliminate sagging skin. This procedure encompasses the abdomen, waist, back, and buttocks, providing a tighter and more contoured body silhouette. Patients whom lost over 50 kg are usually candidates for 360 body lift.

A 360 body lift or full body lift is a surgical operation for weight loss and body contouring. It is a cosmetic surgery that involves the removal of excess fat from the body and creates a sharper and curved body shape. The 360 body lift aims to repair sagging skin caused by aging, rapid weight loss or pregnancy, and also to remove excess fat and skin from various parts of the body.

The 360-body lift is a more intensive alternative to regular liposuction. In traditional liposuction, the surgeon removes fat from a specific area, whereas in a 360-body lift, the surgeon targets multiple areas with excess fat and skin and removes them to reshape the entire body.

It should be noted that the 360-body lift is not a weight loss surgery, but is often used after bariatric surgeries, when the patient has reached their body weight goal and wants to remove excess sagging skin due to massive weight loss.

A 360 body lift is a surgical operation that removes excess fat and skin from multiple areas of the body to reshape and contour the body shape. This operation is usually performed after extreme weight loss due to strict diets, but mostly after bariatric surgeries. A 360-body lift is a combination of liposuction and skin excision.

What to expect from a 360-body lift?

Preparation

Before the surgery, the specialist will perform various checks and health assessments to ensure that the patient is ready to undergo a safe operation. This includes a review of the patient's medical history regarding their general health, allergies, prescribed medications and various tests will be performed to ensure suitability for the procedure.

The doctor will also recommend quitting smoking ideally 6 weeks before the operation (if applicable) and avoiding taking aspirin before one week, anti-inflammatory drugs and other medications that may increase the risk of bleeding. The day before the procedure, the patient will need to fast.

In addition, the patient will be informed about their recovery plan; and will be given various medications such as painkillers for the days following the procedure.

Procedure

Upon arrival at the clinic, the doctors/nurses will perform some health tests to make sure the patient is safe for surgery. The steps of the surgery can be divided into the following:

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia. After anesthesia and sedation are administered, the surgeon, together with the surgical team, is ready to start cosmetic surgery.

Depending on the areas that require skin excision and lifting, the surgeon will start by making incisions and removing sagging skin while performing liposuction to reduce excess fat deposits.

Once the skin has been stretched to the desired extent, the surgeon cuts away the excess skin. The two remaining skin surfaces are sewn together using aesthetic sutures.

The sutures will be strategically placed to create aesthetic results and sculpt the body shape.

Drains are placed in the treated areas to collect fluids during surgery.

After surgery, bandages and a corset are placed over the entire body (abdomen, buttocks, thighs) to keep the sutures tight and help the surgical sites heal.

The surgery takes about 5 to 7 hours, depending on the number and size of the targeted areas.

The patient will stay in the hospital overnight and the next day.

What is the recovery process of 360-body lift surgery ?

After the surgery is performed, the patient will be closely monitored by the medical team to make sure there are no complications. The patient will most likely need to take medication to relieve the pain caused by the stitches and reduce any discomfort.

The recommended diet after surgery includes fluids and liquid foods. It is recommended to use the corset for 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. Drains and stitches will be removed at a follow-up appointment with the surgeon a few days or weeks later.
