How is Arm Lift Surgery Performed?

In arm lift surgery, different techniques can be applied according to the degree of sagging. In standard arm lift surgery, an incision is made along the inner arm from the armpit to the elbow. Depending on the amount of sagging, different procedures are applied for arm stretching.

• Vaser Liposuction Method (Scarless Arm Lift Surgery)

In individuals whose skin elasticity is still in good condition, excess fat is removed by treatment with vaser liposuction technologies.

• Short Watch Arm Stretch

In this method, the entire application is made from the armpit area. In the first stage, the arm is thinned with liposuction. Then the excess skin is pulled towards the armpit. To close the incision, sutures are placed in the armpit area and the scars remain under this area.

Recovery Process After Arm Lift Surgery

Arm lift surgery takes an average of 1.5-2 hours. It is performed under general or local anesthesia. In applications performed with local anesthesia, the patient is discharged on the same day, while in applications with general anesthesia, one day of hospitalization may be required. It is suitable for showering two days after the operation. Bandages are used in the first days after the operation. Activities that require physical strength should be avoided. After 4-5 weeks, sports activities are allowed. In some cases, a drainage tube may be placed to control bleeding and prevent fluid buildup.

Is There Any Scar After Arm Lift Surgery?

In arm lift surgery, the sagging skin between the elbow and armpit is cut and excess skin is thrown out. Therefore, after this process, the area needs to be stretched and stitched again. In arm lift surgery, if the procedure is applied to the upper arm from side to side, a long scar may remain. When this mark is hidden in the back of the arm, it is not easily noticed. However, individuals who may be uncomfortable with this scar can apply for surgical scar treatments.
